Unforgettable Morning

In the contemporary world, there are a lot of people who care for themselves more than the others. Therefore, people would find that there are many types of injustice occurring in the world. However, the following story reminds us that there are still a lot of kind people in the world.

It was a normal morning. I was, as usual, trying to study in the coffee shop. It is really convenient to study at the coffee shop. You would just need to purchase cup of coffee and then you can stay to work until it closes.

While I was studying, I saw that there was an old lady walking into the shop. She was looking at the menu listed on the board. Obviously, it should be the first time that she comes to a coffee shop to purchase a drink. She was confused with the numerous choices that she could choose from in the board.

The cashier also noticed this. She tried to ask the old lady about the choice of drinks that she wanted.

“Madam, what sort of drink do you want?”

“Hm… I am not sure. Which one would you recommend me to have?”

As usual, the staff tried to explain some of the choices that people commonly would choose. The lady tried to ask a lot of questions regarding the choice of coffee that the staff explained. At first, the staff tried her best to do the explanation. However, she gradually got impatient. There were more and more people queuing and the staff wanted to finish taking the order for this old lady as soon as possible. Gradually, she increased her volume and tried to force the woman to make a choice. The old lady was puzzled with the situation as she obviously still had a lot of questions that she wanted to ask for clarification.

Suddenly, a young man tried to approach the old lady, “Madam, may I help you?”

Among the tens of people lining behind the old lady, he was the only one who came forward and tried to offer some helps. Instead of bothering the rest of the customers, he brought the lady to some other areas for a further discussion and explanation about the types of coffee that the lady wants to get.

After 10 minutes and questions and answers, the lady finally confirmed that she wanted to have a cup of Cameral Latte.

The young man helped the old lady to purchase a cup of the drink. After getting the drink and having a smell of it, the old lady smiled and said, “Yes! It is this smell. My husband used to have this drink.”

“Madam, then why don’t you bring your husband here to buy the drink?”

“Kid, you know what, I used to hate coffee so I don’t come to coffee shop. But my husband always buys coffee home and this is the smell of coffee that he used to enjoy. Now he has passed away and today I will go to visit his grave so I want to buy one. Thank you so much kid, for helping me with that.”
