Never Ask For A Pay

It was a cold day. Tim was walking in the street and he tried to sell the little boxes that he made with papers. He was trying to earn some money for his family, in which his father had just lost his job and his mother passed away.

Although Tim sincerely tried to sell the boxes that he made, nobody wanted it. In the city, paper boxes were not something rare. They could simply get the boxes anywhere from the shops. Compared with those products from the shops, the paper boxes made by Tim were nothing. Sadly, this was something that an eight-year-old boy could do.

After walking for several streets, Tim still could not sell any of the boxes that he had made. But he did not want to give up. He knew that his father was very depressed with losing the job and his wife. He knew that his family would need to have some money in order to overcome the hardship currently. Therefore, he still tried to look for some buyers for the products.

But he could not withstand the cold weather eventually. His body showed various types of signals to warn his that he would be too cold to survive if he did not return home. Therefore, he could do nothing but turned back.

While he was walking back home, he met a lady. The lady was surprised to see such a kid dressing so little in the cold weather. Therefore, she approached Tim and asked, “Hello, do you feel cold? Where are your parents?”

“My dad is at home and my mum has passed away,” Tim replied, “I am trying to sell some paper boxes that I have made to get some money. I think my dad will be happy if we have some money at home.”

The lady looked at the boxes that Tim made. She obviously noticed that the boxes were too normal to attract clients. She felt sorry with the things happening on Tim so she decided to help him. She bought the boxes from Tim and gave him the additional money. Tim went home happily with the money.

Many years later, a fire occurred in the town. Many houses were burnt. Many people lost their house and they could only live in some of the temporary houses provided by the government.

A young man, a rich and smart entrepreneur, came to the town. He walked across the roads that he used to walk when he was a kid. He looked at the houses which were burnt and visited the temporary houses. There, he saw a familiar face.

“Dear all, I am glad to announce that my company is going to process the building of houses for all of you without charges. The construction project will start tomorrow and it is expected that houses would be available soon. By the meantime, we will cooperate with the government and maintain the food and accommodation for all of you.”

When asked by the journalists about his announcement, this man, Tim, said, “It was a lady who did not ask for a pay from this town who saved me. Now she is here. I think she would be happy if the young kid spread her belief of helping others to the whole town.”
