It happened when I was still in my schooling days as a primary one kid. One day, I noticed a classmate using a real badly torn school bag to carry his textbooks and belongings... he came from a poor family with about 10 siblings to feed, he couldn't afford to have a good bag. Though my parents were not well off either, my living conditions were better than his. I offered to help him.
As a kid, I loved to move around on a bicycle. I had an extra school bag at home, so I brought it with me, rided on my bicyle, headed straight to his home. It came a surprise for him, he didn't expect me to deliver my promise. He thanked me and I remembered the happy smile on his face. His parents even plucked a few bunches of rambutan fruits for me!
Thirty years had passed, the joy of helping... I can still feel this little joy in my heart. I might not have helped him much, but he helped me to experience and appreciate the joy of helping someone in need.
